OUGD503: Studio brief 2 - Boost, flavoured waters

Me and my partner had a mini crit with Lorraine today and we realised that we had been designing as if we were designing for a smoothie drink. We were told to look at flavoured waters, and reconsider the bottle shape and design.

Very clean and clear, the bottle is tinted blue, to keep the water looking more fresh and healthy. I like the use of the water at the bottom.

Again the bottle is tinted blue. The label only takes up a small proportion of the bottle which is interesting. The shape looks functional and easy to hold.

The bottles use real illustrations of the fruits on the front. Here I like how the lids are colour coordinated, something that we could possibly incorporate into our design. The names are very h2o, for example 'Aqua'.

The aesthetic of a lot of the bottles are very similar. Simple labels in the middle, clear blue bottles, and images of fruit with water splashes making it look refreshing. I can now see how Lorraine thought that are bottle was a smoothie design and not a water design. We need to possibly change the bottle shape and start thinking about having the label very simple and clear, not cluttered. I like the idea of incorporating hills into the design, to show that it is all natural, maybe adding a slight green or blue tint to add to the water effect?
